People leave. The record stays.
SGB elections replace most of the governing body at once. Policies live on someone's laptop. Minutes live in a notebook. Three years of hard-won governance knowledge walks out the door in a single cycle — at thousands of schools, every term.
The BELA Act commenced in December 2024 and reshaped admissions and language policy for every public school. Most schools are still working from documents written for the old rules.

Every draft Quorum generates carries compliance notes — what legislation each clause addresses, what's covered, and what still needs attention. The citations are the proof.

Drafted from your school's context, clause by clause, against SASA, BELA, POPIA and provincial law.
Every draft carries compliance notes — what's covered, what needs attention, and the section of the Act it comes from.
Nothing is final until your SGB reviews and approves it. Approved policies are locked and versioned.
Quorum provides governance support, not legal advice.
Three steps. No IT support required.
Name, province, EMIS number. Sign in with a magic link — no passwords to create or manage.
Invite members by email with their roles. The principal anchors the account permanently, across every future SGB cycle.
Answer a few questions about your school. Review the draft with your SGB, approve it, done.
When the next SGB is elected, they don't inherit a WhatsApp group and a filing cabinet. They inherit the school's full governance record: every policy, every version, every approval, every deadline.
Quorum is the institutional memory the Schools Act assumes your school has — and that most schools are still trying to keep in someone's inbox.
The principal anchors the account. The new chairperson inherits everything. Nothing gets lost in the handover.
How Quorum works
One platform. Every seat covered.
Admissions, Language, Code of Conduct — the three policies every school must have under SASA and BELA.
Social Media, AI Use, Anti-Bullying, POPIA Data Protection, Finance, Procurement and more.
Upload what you have. Quorum reviews it for compliance gaps and suggests what needs updating.
Full SGB roster with role assignments, quorum tracking, and seat-fill progress toward your 9-member target.
Annual statutory obligations and deadlines, exportable to your calendar app.
Every policy draft shows exactly what legislation each clause addresses — and what still needs attention.
Quorum was built by a serving SGB chairperson at a Western Cape primary school — a parent governor who inherited binding legal authority, no induction, and no institutional memory, and watched education law change mid-term under BELA. This is the tool he needed on day one.
